WHO IS BEHIND CASA MODESTA

Silvia Murray is an economist who grew up in Colombia, raised by a fashion designer mother. From a young age, she was surrounded by fabrics, sewing machines, threads, and patterns. Elements that naturally connected her to the world of fashion. While Silvia always loved fashion and design, her passion stemmed from a more personal and cultural perspective.

As she lived in different countries, Silvia realized that fashion was a constant thread tying her back to Colombia. There, she deeply identified with the craftsmanship and labor of artisans, designers, jewelers, and farmworkers. Their skill and dedication inspired her.

Driven by a desire to showcase the cultural and human value embedded in handmade products, Silvia founded Casa Modesta. Her mission: to share with the world the true worth of labor and the stories behind every material and creation.
